A metamorphic landscape for the global and local community.
The design for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Park is an artificial landscape inspired by natural phase change formations. The transformation of the amphibious park over the course of the Games choreographs a sequence from aquatic to terrestrial competition. Post-Olympics, the highly prescribed geometric structures are offered up for selective deconstruction by Tokyo inhabitants. The remnant forms, reclaimed for community use, reactivate and reimagine an iconic landscape.
